While the Hall and Dawson County courthouses both remain open at this time, you’re encouraged to conduct business over the phone and make an appointment before visiting. Please review our Hours of Operation and Contact Information. Prior to visiting either courthouse, however, please review the Order for Temporary Health Measures.
Substance Abuse Services conducts drug and alcohol evaluations to provide the Courts with information and recommended therapeutic interventions for offenders arrested for such crimes as driving under the influence, drug possession, and domestic violence. After initial evaluation, if the person is determined to have a substance abuse problem, the individual selects an approved treatment provider, and Substance Abuse Services takes an active role in monitoring treatment and program compliance for the duration of the process. The purpose of our drug and alcohol evaluation program is not for license reinstatement or for meeting the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities requirements.
An offender’s probation/pretrial officer schedules the drug and alcohol evaluation if it is ordered by the sentencing judge.
